The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is seeking an experienced and talented Media and Communications Specialist to support our research team in India to pitch reports, media releases and op-eds on the energy and finance sectors and build engagement with key decision-makers and influencers.
This role would suit a former journalist and/or media advisor who wants to move into the not-for-profit space and use their extensive contacts to make a difference.
This position is a remote working role and candidates may be located anywhere in India.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Media and Communications Specialist, you will use your excellent media and communications skills to pitch IEEFA’s research to local, national and international media.
You will also identify key stakeholders for meetings with IEEFA analysts and ensure our research reaches decision-makers and influencers.
You will also support IEEFA’s analysts to build audiences for their work through creative social media campaigns.
You will be experienced in responding to fast-paced reactive media in addition to building proactive campaigns to help increase the impact and timeliness of our work.
The successful candidate will have excellent media contacts in India and will also build strong relationships with new contacts locally, and internationally as required.
You will be aligned with IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable energy economy.
You will be self-motivated, able to work independently, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines with limited direction while working remotely.

IEEFA is an NGO/not-for-profit thinktank that conducts independent public interest research and analysis on financial and economic issues related to energy markets, trends and policies. Term and Schedule: Full-time initial 12-month contract with the option of extension by mutual agreement. Remuneration based on experience.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
